The road to sustainability

The road to sustainability

The most sustainable garment is one that is never produced, but the world will continue to need clothes.

We are not perfect, far from it, there is still a lot of work to do, but we have to start somewhere, right?

When we opt for sustainably produced garments that are durable and have a timeless look, we are investing in the future. Not only are we taking care of nature (no more negative impact), but it is also the perfect answer to the crazy consumption of fast fashion. By choosing quality garments that will last for years, we are promoting a culture of conscious consumption. So, by choosing wisely, we are not only taking care of our environment, but also making our fashion investment totally worthwhile in the long run.

100% organic cotton

ALL OUR GARMENTS ARE 100% ORGANIC COTTON. Organic cotton is a true hero in the world of sustainable fashion. Grown without harmful chemicals, it cares for our planet and those who work on it. It is resistant and breathable, perfect for everyone, especially if your skin is delicate. In addition, by choosing it, you are supporting practices that save water and energy.

Organic cotton is 100% biodegradable, generates organic matter in crop rotation and makes the soil more fertile. It helps reduce the environmental footprint, generates much less CO2 and therefore makes the air we breathe purer and less polluted.

Recycled cotton is not a very stable fiber and must be blended with other fibers to create a strong and durable yarn. Given the difficulty of production, the cost of recycled cotton is generally higher than that of virgin cotton and the risk of contamination by other fibers is higher.

Recent research has even shown that rPET fabric releases almost 2.3 times more microplastics than virgin PES (polyester) fabric (Source: İlkan Özkan & Sedat Gündoğdu (2021), due to its shorter and more fragile fibers. Due to these short fibers, the garments are also of lower quality, which means that the resulting products will have a shorter shelf life.

Protect what you love

Sustainability is in fashion, that's for sure. There are many brands that are doing amazing things, like planting trees. But we've decided to do something special right here in our own corner of the world. Therefore, we support different NGOs and local organizations by donating 5% of our profits. You can also join us: from our website, you can make your contribution to help us keep our beaches and islands free of plastic.

No plastics or pollutants

On our way to a cleaner future, we create garments free of single-use plastics and pollutants. From the beginning, we have chosen only environmentally friendly materials and earth-friendly processes. Our packaging and labels are totally green. And for delivery, we select low-carbon methods. Thus, every piece you receive is a small victory in the fight against plastic.

Sustainable production

We are deeply committed to producing sustainable garments that not only meet, but exceed current environmental and social requirements and certifications. We have meticulously selected the factories where we produce our garments to ensure that each fiber contributes to the reduction of environmental impact, and that they implement ethical manufacturing practices, ensuring fair and safe working conditions for all workers. Our commitment extends to packaging and distribution, using recyclable and biodegradable materials, thus minimizing our carbon footprint.

Limited stock

88% of fashion brands do not disclose their annual production volumes.

About 30% of all clothing produced in the world is not sold and often ends up in open dumps on the other side of the world. The Atacama Desert in Chile tells this story of excess well.

At Life is better on the island we want to be transparent, but above all we want to limit our production to a reasonable number of garments, thus avoiding waste and pollution.

Circular Fashion

Circular fashion is the production system based on the circular economy, which seeks to optimize creative and productive processes, promoting the conscious and rational use of both natural and human resources, in order to reduce the impact and waste on the environment. The useful life of a product is very valuable in this system, our proposal is to try to prolong it as much as possible.
